Bibliography of Asian Studies o n p r o x y
This on-line version of the Bibliography of Asian Studies (BAS) contains more than 410,000 records on all subjects (especially humanities and social sciences) pertaining to East, Southeast, and South Asia published worldwide. Through the 1991 printed version, the BAS included citations to western-language periodical articles, individually authored monographs, chapters in edited volumes, conference proceedings, anthologies, and Festschriften, etc. Since 1992, newly published individual monographs are no longer being added to the database. (1971-, updated quarterly)


Bya-ra: a Tibetan Research Database u n r e s t r i c t e d
A database containing over 9700 bibliographic entries to materials located in New York at the Himalayan and Inner Asian Resources (HIAR); the Library of Congress; and university and private holdings in Bloomington, Indiana.


China Academic Journals -- Literature, History, Philosophy r i c e o n l y
China Academic Journals (CAJ) now contains more than 8,200 journal titles covering 1994–current. In addition, more than 3,500 CAJ titles are also accessible in deep archives from as early as 1906 through 1993 in the Century Journal Project (CJP). CAJ and its complement, CJP, are both accessed through the single interface of CAJ.

Contemporary Authors helps researchers discover biographic details on approximately 100,000 modern novelists, poets, playwrights, non-fiction writers, journalists and scriptwriters. Current writers as well as the most-studied literary figures of the early 20th century, and authors from around the world whose works have been translated into English or published in the United States are featured.

CLC presents significant published criticism on the works of novelists, poets, playwrights, short story writers, and other creative writers now living or who died after December 31, 1959. Each entry contains the following: a biographical essay that discusses the author's life, works, and critical importance; critical essays or excerpts taken from books, magazines, literary reviews, newspapers, and scholarly journals; and, where available, interviews with featured authors. A complete bibliographical citation prefaces each critical essay and most essays are introduced by a brief annotation that establishes a context and purpose for the criticism. Entries also provide suggestions for further reading.

The Dictionary of Literary Biography (DLB) records the achievements of the world's most influential literary figures. Each entry includes personal data, the author's principal works, and sources for further study.


Historical Abstracts o n p r o x y | includes Full Text
Complete reference guide to the history of the world from 1450 to the present (excluding the United States and Canada, which are covered in America: History and Life). Published since 1954, Historical Abstracts has long been recognized as the leading bibliography for historical study in the world. Currently over 2,000 journals published throughout the world are covered.


JSTOR o n p r o x y | includes Full TextSource List
JSTOR provides online, fulltext access to over 300 core scholarly journals from date of inception to a "moving wall" of 2-5 years from present. The archived collection includes journals in humanities, social sciences, and natural sciences. The content is searchable by author, title, fulltext with limits by discipline, year, and article type. (Note: pop-up blocking must be disabled.)


Web of Knowledge o n p r o x y previously known as Web of Science | includes Full Text
The Web of Science is an integrated database of three citation indexes: Science Citation Index (SCI), Social Sciences Citation Index (SSCI), and Arts and Humanities Citation Index (AHCI). SCI and SSCI have searchable author abstracts and each database may be searched by a variety of other accesses including who the author cites. WOS permits searching one or more of the three databases. SCI on WOS coverage is from 1900 to date. SSCI indexes material from 1956 to date. AHCI indexes materials from 1975 to date. Includes ISIHighlyCited: a directory of over 250 eminent researchers in life sciences, medicine, physical sciences and social sciences. (minimum 1975- (see description))


Zeitschriftendatenbank (ZDB) u n r e s t r i c t e d
ZDB is the largest database of periodicals and serials in the world. It contains over 1,2 million titles in all languages, published from 1500 to the present day. Electronic editions of periodicals are also included. In addition, ZDB lists over 6 million holdings of these titles in 4,300 German libraries.

Digital South Asia Library
A project of the Center for Research Libraries, this Website provides access to information about contemporary and historical South Asia – including full-text documents, statistical data, electronic images, cartographic representations, and pedagogical resources for language instruction.


Portal to Asian Internet Resources (PAIR)
The Digital Asia Library, based at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, is a cooperative project of The Ohio State University Libraries, the University of Minnesota Libraries, and the University of Wisconsin-Madison Libraries. The project provides a user-friendly, searchable catalog through which researchers and students have quick and easy access to high quality Web resources originating in Asia. The catalog includes freely available Internet resources for research and study of modern East, South, and Southeast Asia on a broad range of topics in the social sciences. Resources are from various sources including academic, government, commercial, trade and industry, and non-governmental organizations.
