- CLC presents significant published criticism on the works of novelists, poets, playwrights, short story writers, and other creative writers now living or who died after December 31, 1959. Each entry contains the following: a biographical essay that discusses the author's life, works, and critical importance; critical essays or excerpts taken from books, magazines, literary reviews, newspapers, and scholarly journals; and, where available, interviews with featured authors. A complete bibliographical citation prefaces each critical essay and most essays are introduced by a brief annotation that establishes a context and purpose for the criticism. Entries also provide suggestions for further reading.

Brazilian Government Document Digitization Project
- A project of the Center for Research Libraries (CRL) aimed at digitizing executive branch serial documents issued by Brazil's national government during the period between 1821 and 1993, and by its provincial governments from the earliest available for each province to the end of the Empire to 1889. The series include: Provincial Presidential Reports (1830-1889), Presidential Messages (1889-1993), Ministerial Reports (1821-1960), and the Almanak Administrativo, Mercantile Industrial do Rio de Janeiro (1844-1889).

Videotape 1 films (documentaries) circulate to all Rice patrons for a week.
Videotape 2 films (feature films) circulate to Faculty for 3 days; Staff and Students can view the films inside the Library (we have recently upgraded our viewing equipment).
