Biological Abstracts o n p r o x y
Approximately 5,500 international journals are reviewed for inclusion, representing virtually every life science discipline, including: agriculture, biochemistry, biotechnology, ecology, environment, genetics, medicine, microbiology, neurology, and pharmacology. Current Contents o n p r o x y via Web of Knowledge | includes Full Text
Current Contents with Abstracts, published by the Institute for Scientific Information, lists the tables of contents from approximately 6,600 scientific and technical journals. Five editions of Current Contents are available online: Agriculture, Biology & Environmental Sciences; Engineering, Technology & Applied Sciences; Life Sciences; Clinical Medicine; and Physical, Chemical & Earth Sciences. The database is updated weekly. The lag time between journal publication and availability on the network is several weeks to a month. (1975-)

Dissertations and Theses - A&I o n p r o x y | includes Full Text
Proquest Dissertations and Theses - A&I database includes citations for masters and doctoral dissertations from 1861 to those accepted as recently as last semester; those published from 1980 forward also include 350-word abstracts, written by the author. Citations for master's theses from 1988 forward include 150-word abstracts. The database represents the work of authors from over 1,000 North American graduate schools and European universities. The full text of dissertations and theses (Rice, 1918- ) may also be downloaded free of charge.


ERIC o n p r o x y | includes Full Text
ERIC contains over 800,000 references to thousands of educational topics. The sources it indexes include journal articles, books, theses, curriculi, conference papers, and standards and guidelines. (Alternate interface languages include: French, Spanish, Chinese, Japanese and Korean). (1966- updated monthly)


Global Books in Print r i c e o n l y Single simultaneous user | includes Full Text
Provides access to Bowker's complete Books In Print database of US, Canadian and U.K. titles. Includes links to reviews from Publisher's Weekly, Choice, Library Journal and others. Over 5 million titles including more than 165,000 worldwide publishers & distributors listings, along with direct links to their website & e-mail. (1998-)


Journal Citation Reports o n p r o x y Guide
Journal Citation Reports is published annually in two editions and allows you to evaluate and compare journals using citation data drawn from over 7,500 scholarly and technical journals from more than 3,300 publishers in over 60 countries. JCR Science Edition contains data from over 5,900 journals in science and technology. JCR Social Sciences Edition contains data from over 1,700 journals in the social sciences. Searchable by subject category, publisher, country or specific journal title. Note, this resource does not have a humanities edition.


JSTOR o n p r o x y | includes Full TextSource List
JSTOR provides online, fulltext access to over 300 core scholarly journals from date of inception to a "moving wall" of 2-5 years from present. The archived collection includes journals in humanities, social sciences, and natural sciences. The content is searchable by author, title, fulltext with limits by discipline, year, and article type. (Note: pop-up blocking must be disabled.)


LexisNexis Statistical o n p r o x y | includes Full Text
Provides indexing and abstracts for a wide range of statistical sources from U.S. federal, U.S. state, and international/non-governmental organization publications. Corresponds to the print indexes American Statistics Index, Index to International Statistics, and Statistical Reference Index.


MathSciNet o n p r o x y
MathSciNet is based on the data in Mathematical Reviews and Current Mathematical Publications. Both bibliographic data and review texts are available from 1980-present. Bibliographic data is also available from 1940-1979. (1940-)


Medline o n p r o x y (via FirstSearch) | includes Full Text
Medline covers more than 4000 journals published internationally, covering all areas of medicine. Medline is prepared by the National Library of Medicine. (1985- updated monthly)


netLibrary o n p r o x y (courtesy of Texshare LogoTexshare) | includes Full Text
Contains reference books, scholarly monographs, and consumer books that have been converted into digital format for electronic distribution. Rice University's private collection (emphasizing computing "how to" manuals, employment resources, and general reference titles) are available full text - as are thousands of titles purchased by the state library consortia, Texshare. In addition, fulltext access is available to hundreds of classic academic texts that are n the public (copyright) domain. See Webcat for specific titles (keyword="netlibrary").


Scopus o n p r o x y | includes Full Text
Indexes over 15,000 journals, as well as several million web pages and U.S. and international patents. Database include article citations from 1996, and permits citation tracking, and (both) saving searches and email or RSS alerts of new material. The system will export records into major citation managers and prepare a bibliography according to major formats. (1966 (pre-1966 for selected major publishers))


Stat-USA o n p r o x y | includes Full Text
Stat-USA provides both indexing and fulltext access to economic, business and international trade information produced by the U.S. Government.


Web of Knowledge o n p r o x y previously known as Web of Science | includes Full Text
The Web of Science is an integrated database of three citation indexes: Science Citation Index (SCI), Social Sciences Citation Index (SSCI), and Arts and Humanities Citation Index (AHCI). SCI and SSCI have searchable author abstracts and each database may be searched by a variety of other accesses including who the author cites. WOS permits searching one or more of the three databases. SCI on WOS coverage is from 1900 to date. SSCI indexes material from 1956 to date. AHCI indexes materials from 1975 to date. Includes ISIHighlyCited: a directory of over 250 eminent researchers in life sciences, medicine, physical sciences and social sciences. (minimum 1975- (see description))
